Since 1976, the Carole Robertson Center for Learning has been dedicated to educating, enriching, and empowering children and families through comprehensive child and family development programs on the west side of Chicago.
We would like to welcome Sonja Crum Knight to the Center family! Sonja has a rich background in direct service, technical assistance and assessment, and evaluation coupled with strong executive leadership. She believes that ensuring equitable early learning for our nation’s most vulnerable children is a matter of social justice.
With over 16 years of service to the profession of early childhood education, Sonja has held a variety of roles working both with and for children and their families. Sonja is a graduate of Capella University where she earned a PhD in Education. Sonja also holds a master’s degree in early childhood administration from National Louis University and postgraduate certification in online instruction from Roosevelt University.
As our new Vice President of Programs and Impact, she will lead the programs team in developing systems and processes to elevate the quality and deepen the impact of early childhood programming, community partnerships, family engagement, mental health, and Out-of-School time programs.
Sonja grew up on the Southside of Chicago in the South Shore neighborhood. Her favorite past times are roller skating and gardening when weather and time permit.
