2019 Annual Celebration

Celebrate 43 years of advancing children and families on the West Side of Chicago on Thursday, May 2, 2019. The evening’s keynote speaker is author and mother, Joy Thomas Moore. Ms. Moore is a Peabody Award winner and president and CEO of JWS Media consulting. Prior to starting her company, Moore worked for fifteen years with the Annie E. Casey Foundation, dedicated to helping build better futures for disadvantaged children and families in the United States. Her book, The Power of Presence, discusses seven pillars of presence parents can use to positively influence their children.

Over the past four decades, the Carole Robertson Center for Learning has been educating, enriching, and empowering children and families through comprehensive child and family development programs. Each day, the Center serves more than 700 children and beyond that, our child care network, provider training, and community partnerships has bettered the lives of thousands of children and families living on the West Side of Chicago.

Please join us for a wonderful evening celebrating the power of families and the Carole Robertson Center community.

  • Holiday Support

    holiday-support

During the holiday season, the Carole Robertson Center for Learning hosts two initiatives that rely on in-kind donations to ensure our children and families have a joyous holiday. The Holiday Gift Giving Project ensures every child receives at least one gift to unwrap for the holidays every year. The Center additionally coordinates the Family Sponsorship Project to support families in need of basic necessities through the holiday season. Our families know they are loved and supported during the winter months thanks to the generous in-kind support of our community.

  • Back to School

    Back to School

At the beginning of every school year, each child in the Center’s After School Enrichment Program receives a backpack and school supplies they need to thrive in the classroom. The in-kind support of our community makes this a reality. Join us as we kick off the school year and distribute supplies at the end of the summer.
